The repair work on pedestrian crossings over the canal and on three streets in downtown Ferragudo begins today, in an intervention that will cost a total of around 110 euros, promoted by the Lagoa City Council.
In the case of the five footbridges over the channel of the Ferragudo stream, «and because they are in a notorious state of degradation», «repair/reconstruction» works will be carried out to «improve pedestrian safety». The work has an execution period of 60 days and costs 4.800 euros.
The municipality will also invest close to 70 euros in Rua 25 de Abril and Rua Vasco da Gama, which converge on Largo Rainha D. Leonor and «are the central commercial area of Ferragudo and a recognized tourist attraction», considering that «for a long time that they need an intervention in order to give them a better image».
Thus, complementing the work that has already been completed in public lighting, both arteries will now be redefined, with the replacement of water and rainwater supply pipes, as well as the standardization of the pavement, «giving better conditions to those who use them. , making pedestrian circulation safer, more attractive and more convenient».
The period of execution of the work is 90 days.
The intervention in Rua Dr. Manuel Teixeira Gomes also begins today, to also «improve the conditions of access for residents on that street, as well as for the customers of the restaurants installed there». The water supply and rainwater pipes will be replaced and the pavement will be rectified, improving and standardizing it.
The work will have an execution period of 120 days and will cost around 35 thousand euros.
All these works will cause some difficulties for circulation in Ferragudo.
