Castro Marim City Council wants to resume work on the Altura Home and Day Center, according to a protocol signed this Monday with the Cegonha Branca Social Solidarity Association, with a view to presuccessing the work.

The goal is to complete the construction of this infrastructure within the next year. This protocol aims at «technical support from the Municipality to the Association», says the Chamber of Castro Marim.

The municipality of Castro Marim is thus committed to supporting the work of the Home and Day Center in Altura, after having ceded the land for its construction in 2001 and, in financial terms, having already supported around 104 thousand euros. the construction of the structure is now available to support the construction of the last phase.

The Association completed the 1st phase of the work, until May 2008, which consisted of the construction of the structure and reinforced concrete. Since then, the construction process has been stopped due to the non-approval of successive financing applications.

The Chamber of Castro Marim considers this “a necessary work for the municipality and that it provides an important social response to its residents, due to the features it will have, and hence the establishment of this protocol as a formal guarantee, at will that has always been expressed”.
