The Civil Protection of Albufeira will promote an action to clarify the prevention and control of mosquito pests, on 9th September, at 19 pm, in the building of the Parish Council of Paderne.
The objective of this initiative is “to sensitize the population on how to avoid mosquito bites, the problems caused in terms of disease transmission, how to control the proliferation and promote the elimination of pests, the life cycle and reproduction of these insects, as well as measures to be taken in case of infestation», says the City Council of Albufeira.
"For this purpose, theoretical and practical knowledge considered essential in the field of surveillance and prevention will be transmitted, with a view to improving the public health and safety of populations," he added.
In times of greater heat, mosquitoes can reproduce in just a week. Insects lay eggs in wet areas, preferably in pits, sewers and stagnant and polluted waters, which can lead to the proliferation of pests, which, in addition to being inconvenient, have consequences for the health of populations.
This initiative is organized in partnership with the Public Health Unit of Albufeira and the Parish Council of Paderne.
