A young woman, «appearing to be about 20 years old», died this afternoon, being run over by a train in Portimão, in the area between Pedra Mourinha and Aqua, about a kilometer from the station.
The line is cut, for the work of removing the corpse, and the train is still stopped at the accident site, he told the Sul Informação Commander Richard Marques, from the Fire Department of Portimão.
According to the CDOS, the alert for fatalities was given at 16:04 pm, and the young woman died immediately, when she was picked up by the train.
The victim, who has no identification with him, would be "talking on the phone while walking along the line, according to the train engineer's report," added commander Richard Marques. It is still unknown whether the young woman threw herself on the line or whether she was run over by accident.
The CDOS added that the Fire Department of Portimão, the PSP, the Judiciary Police and the INEM are at the scene, which sent a psychologist to the scene of the accident to assist the driver.
