The duo Jorge Lima/José Costa, the latter from the Algarve and native of Tavira, is in 13th place overall in the Olympic sailing race (class 49er), after the third day of regattas, which took place today.
The Portuguese came to be in 2nd place at the end of the first day, but the poor performance in the regattas on Saturday and today made them go down in general..
Yesterday, on the second day of the race, the pair completed four races, having been disqualified in the 6th race and got 18th place in the 3rd, 6th place in the 4th and 16th place in the 5th.
Today, on the last day of the race, José Costa and Jorge Lima still managed to reach 4th place in the 9th race, but 12th place in the 7th and 19th place – penultimate – in the 8th did not compensate for this good result.
Tomorrow, the pair will compete again for the last three races of the 49er class of the Olympic sailing event, in Marina da Glória. At 17:05 pm, the 10th race will start; at 18:05 pm the 11th and, finally, at 19:05 pm the 12th – and last – race.
