wantFor the first time, the village of Querença is hosting a literary festival. The initiative is from the Manuel Viegas Guerreiro Foundation, with the support of the Câmara de Loulé and other entities, and runs from 5 to 7 August.

The XNUMXst Literary Festival of Querença will take place in several places in the village, and will be attended by national and international writers.

In addition to literature, there will be room for music, gastronomy and art. This will also be a Iberian Poetry Meeting, which has the presence of more than two dozen Portuguese and Spanish poets.

These «tom the word in different public spaces in the village of Querença, conducting conversations around central issues for Contemporary Portuguese Literature. The organization's expectation is that other creators will join this summer festival of letters, creating a continuous dialogue during the three days that the Festival will take place», announces Câmara de Loulé.

The first day of the festival is dedicated to Andalusian poets. The second pays homage to Casimiro de Brito, a poet of Algarve origin with roots in Querença. Finally, the last day is dedicated to Algarvian poets in general – either by origin or by heart.

According to Loulé Chamber, the main objective of the I Literary Festival of Querença is «celebrate the Word in all its forms – spoken, remembered, written, sung, subverted, danced, repeated, staged, discussed… and its protagonists. Word draws word and the village of Querença will be root and shadow for a continuous dialogue animated by all the voices that will gather here».
