Portimão: Navy rescues pregnant woman who became unconscious on touristic tour

marineA 32-year-old pregnant woman, who felt ill and lost consciousness twice on a tour of the sea, was rescued by the Navy off Portimão this morning.
According to the Navy, the woman, Portuguese, was aboard the maritime-tourist vessel «Alegria», which sailed 2 nautical miles southwest of the Port of Portimão, and «during the tour, she felt bad, having lost her felt twice, which led CODU-Mar to assess the situation as having a need for medical evacuation for better observation».
The lifeboat rescued the victim and transported her to the Marina de Portimão pier, where an INEM ambulance was waiting for her, which transported the woman to the Portimão Hospital.
The operation was coordinated by the Lisbon Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC Lisbon), in conjunction with the Captain of the Port of Portimão and INEM.
