The Portuguese drivers Ivo Lopes and Tiago Magalhães stood out in the timed training sessions of the FIM CEV 2016 race that the Algarve International Circuit is hosting, by making, respectively, the best time in Superstock 600 and the best time among private drivers in Superbikes.

For the fourth time this year, Ivo Lopes was the fastest in the Superstock 600, a class that integrates the starting grid of the Moto2 European Championship, and will be looking for his third victory in the class this year. year to be the fastest among the privateers, which will allow him to start from the second row of the starting grid, to try for his debut victory in the European Superbike.

In today's session, which served to define the starting lineup of the five races that will take place this Sunday in Portimão, who stood out the most were Lorenzo Dalla Porta, Tetsuta Nagashima and Carmelo Morales, who secured pole position in the Junior Moto3 categories. Moto2 and Superbike, respectively.

After almost two months of breaks and after two days of private practice, all the riders and teams finally completed a qualifying day, where the captains of the respective championships were highlighted, in particular Lorenzo Dalla Porta and Carmelo Morales, who were the fastest in the morning session and repeated the dose in the second and last timed session in the early afternoon.

This was, moreover, the fifth pole position in the Junior Moto3 World Championship of Dalla Porta, which was imposed on Raul González and Rory Skinner, the second and third fastest in today's practice session.
Carmelo Morales will share the front row of the Superbike grid with Maximilian Scheib (2nd) and Alejandro Medina 83rd).

Among the Moto2 squad, Japan's Tetsuta Nagashima dethroned Steven Odendaal from top spot by setting a better time than his opponent during the second session, with his South African rivals failing to improve on their morning time. Thus, Odendaal took second, with Alan Techer taking third place.

Tomorrow, Sunday, there are five races, with the party program starting at 9:00 am, with the warm-up, which lasts until 10:05 am. The Pit Lane Walk is scheduled for 10:15.

At 11:00, the first Superbike race of the day begins, followed by Moto1 race 2 at 12:00. At 13:00, Junior Moto3 riders will hit the track. at 14:00 and 15:00, respectively, race 2 of Superbikes and Moto2. All races are 17 laps, with the exception of Moto3 which has 16 laps.
