Portuguese pilots Ivo Lopes and Tiago Magalhães, from the Lisbon team Kawasaki Oneundret Racing Team, return this Saturday to the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve track for the free practice sessions, which mark the starting day of the official program of this sixth race of the FIM CEV 2016.

The two drivers were also present today at the Portimão circuit, for the day of private tests, thus starting the «Operation AIA», in a round that could be very important for the team's aspirations.

Upon arrival in the Algarve, where there will be two races for both Portuguese, with Tiago Magalhães competing in the Superbike squad and Ivo Lopes in the Superstock 600, a class that integrates the Moto2 starting grid, either of them has prominent positions to defend .

Tiago Magalhães is third among the private drivers, with 22 points of difference to the leader of the classification, while Ivo Lopes even leads the Superstock 600, and, in Portimão, he could increase his number of victories already signed in the class this year ( 2), taking advantage of your knowledge of a path where it is admittedly fast.

“We know this could be the most important weekend of the season as far as the CEV is concerned. Both Tiago and Ivo are doing very well in their rankings and we want the fact that we are in Portugal to play in our favor, so that we can, if possible, increase the advantage, in the case of Ivo, and, in the case of Tiago, continue to reduce the gap to the first of the privates”, said Ricardo Duarte, the team's boss.

“Today was a calm day, without any major worries, but very important for us to have our bikes set up at their best at the start of tomorrow. It will be a demanding weekend, due to the track and the high temperatures expected, but we are at home and we want to be protagonists again”, he added.

Over a very productive day from a technical point of view, the people in charge of both bikes, Jaime Lima and João Pequeno, carried out all the preparation work side by side with Tiago Magalhães and Ivo Lopes, respectively.
