A bather was rescued yesterday afternoon on the beach at Ilha do Farol by three lifeguards, after having disrespected the raised red flag.
According to the National Maritime Authority (AMN), “the bather entered an area of water streams, with strong currents, and was unable to get out of the water. It earned him the quick intervention of three lifeguards».
AMN says that "the high temperatures that have been felt in the last week have taken many people to the beaches" and "warns all bathers to the need to scrupulously respect the indications of lifeguards and the flags that are hoisted."
