The Algarve's Pedro Martins lost on his debut in the Olympic Games badminton tournament. The athlete from Lagoa was defeated by Canadian Martin Giuffre by 2-1, in the second game of Group M.
Pedro Martins even entered the game well and won the first set 21-14 and had a meeting point in the second. However, he failed to take advantage of the opportunity and ended up defeated 24-22 and 21-6.
This Sunday Pedro Martins, who is the 59th in the world, returns to play against NG Ka Long Angus, from Hong Kong, 13th in the world ranking.
