«Algarve, who are you?» performs in theatrical version at the Mediterranean Diet Fair

Book Algarve Who are you RTAThe presentation of the play «Algarve, who are you?», based on in the children's book with the same name edited by the Algarve Tourism Region, will be one of the initiatives promoted by the regional tourism entity during the Mediterranean Diet Fair, which takes place in Tavira, from 1st to 4th September.

The play, staged by Associação ArQuente, will be presented at the fair on September 4th, at 21 pm.

RTA is one of the strategic partners of the Mediterranean Diet Fair, namely in the dissemination, design and production of materials for the dissemination of the initiative and will participate in the fair with a stand own, where it will distribute informational materials and gifts to those who visit the institutional space, some of which allude to the diet and lifestyle famous for being at the table.

As in previous years, RTA will share the space with Alentejo, continuing the partnership implemented in 2013 by the two tourism entities in the south of the country. O stand can be visited, on the first two days, from 18:00 to 00:00; and on days 3 and 4 from 11:00 to 00:00.

«RTA renews its partnership with the Mediterranean Diet Fair, in a quest to share the celebration of this heritage that was bequeathed to us by the Greeks, Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs, and which involves healthy eating and a lifestyle that includes not only gastronomy, as well as all culture, sociability and conviviality at the table», says the president of RTA, Desidério Silva.

For Desidério Silva, the collaboration with the local authority of Tavira and with the other co-organizers of this fair are an “important union and sharing of values, in favor of a common heritage marked on the UNESCO indicative list, which we must preserve”, he assures.

The RTA explains that the «Mediterranean Diet Fair arose with the aim of transmitting the ancestral cultural values ​​of this diet, educating for food health and healthy lifestyles, valuing local and endogenous products of the sea and land, and respecting the environment, ecosystems and cultural landscapes, among others».

The program, which this year features several novelties, promises, according to RTA, “to surprise its visitors: institutional fair, producers' market, concerts, Mediterranean theater and dances, philharmonic and charangas streets, culinary experiences, cardiovascular and nutritional advice, activity physics, presentation of editions of books and records, conferences and debates, visits to heritage and exhibitions in the city, games and shows for children, Mediterranean garden, restaurants and taverns, and even handicrafts, are some of the proposals in this edition».
