Aljezur_New Church_01The Igreja Nova area, in Aljezur, will have a new urban garden, with an area of ​​around 3 thousand square meters, announced the City Council of that village on the Costa Vicentina.

The local authority adds that, at yesterday's Chamber meeting, it was decided to award the “Construction of the Urban Garden of Aljezur” to a company that presented a proposal of just over 166 euros and a deadline of 120 days.

This is a contract for the redevelopment of an area located in the middle of the urban area, creating a garden with a lawn and trees, equipped with children's playground equipment, games yard, permanence areas, and a sanitary installation. It also includes works to improve the access and parking streets. According to the Municipality of Aljezur, the project for the new garden "had the contributions of the population".

The land, a rectangle measuring 2970 square meters, is limited to East and West, respectively, by Rua Pintor José Cercas and a local access. Confronting the North and the South, with residential buildings.

The PDM classifies the area in the category of “Urban Spaces”, generally intended for urbanization and construction without specific use.

"The project is aimed at renovating free space, giving it a complementary use of urban living, providing the residential and urban area with an orderly and equipped permanence space, a fundamental contribution to strengthening the identity of the neighborhood and improving the quality of people's lives”, concludes the municipality.
