Rodrigo LeonRodrigo Leão's concert, on Saturday, at 22 pm, at Palácio da Galeria Park, in Tavira, will be «a special moment». The musician and composer promises a journey through his career and the sounds that influence his music, from pop to tango.
Rodrigo Leão anticipated, in statements to the Sul Informação, your show in the “Summer in Tavira“, revealing that this «will be a concert where we will present what we have been doing throughout the year on tour. It's a show more based on my last work “A Vida Secreta das Máquinas”, which was recorded with the orchestra and choir of the Gulbenkian, but here adapted for string quartet».

However, Rodrigo Leão says that there will also be a repertoire “of older and better known records. A little of the various influences I have had in my career will be present, such as tango, classical music, or pop. Basically, it will be a trip to what I have been doing for the last twenty or so years».

On this trip, Rodrigo Leão will be accompanied by Ana Vieira, who, about three years after he stopped singing in the composer's band, returns as a guest voice for this concert. “It will be, therefore, a special moment. She is a singer that we admire a lot, with a fantastic voice», considers Rodrigo Leão.

The musician also raised the tip of his veil over the beginning of his show: «the concert opens with “Submersas Forests”, which was written for the exhibition with the same name that is still on display at the Lisbon Oceanarium, by Takashi Amano, which unfortunately has already left us, but which I had the pleasure of meeting, last year, at the opening of this exhibition».

Rodrigo Leão's presence in Tavira is not a debut, quite the contrary, that's why the musician assumes that playing in the Algarve city is a bit like «playing at home».

«Tavira is very special to me. Whenever I can, I like to go to Tavira, for two or three days. I like to go to Santa Luzia, eat an octopus, and go by boat to these fantastic beaches», he reveals.

«I hope that people like it and that we can feel the well-being of playing and sharing it with the public», concludes Rodrigo Leão.

Tickets, worth 15 euros, can be purchased at the City Hall reception, at the summer promotional stand in Tavira (Praça da República) and at www.bol.pt.
