New image Beaches of CacelaThe Vilarreal beaches of Manta Rota, Lota and Fábrica began to have a joint image, after having been the target of several urban interventions.

The brand «Praias de Cacela» was launched this Tuesday and aims to promote the three beaches in an integrated manner, highlighting the environmental quality, inviting family members to enjoy these bathing areas.

On the same day, the Municipality of Vila Real de Santo António and the Algarve Tourism Region inaugurated the new Manta Rota Municipal Tourist Office, which will now provide information about the municipality and the region.

Ten years after the requalification of the Manta Rota and Fábrica seafront, the local authority invested in several interventions and in standardizing the image and communication of the three beaches in this area, which does not have territorial continuity with the county seat and with another important tourist area, Monte Gordo. The municipality of Vila Real de Santo António has the particularity of being divided into two parts, which have no connection between them, with a strip of the municipality of Castro Marim dividing them…

According to the Chamber of VRSA, the intervention now carried out involved «the installation of new equipment on the beach at Manta Rota e Lota, the implementation of the new layout in all public places, the integral signage of the Manta Rota walkway (the largest in Sotavento), as well as the creation of new public spaces, namely a leisure park».

"The project also includes the painting and adaptation of the beach support and the Manta Rota municipal market to the new brand, as well as the renovation of accessible beach equipment," he added.

At Fábrica beach, actions include placing signs to support visitors and promoting the destination along the EN 125.

The tourist brand «Praias de Cacela» is the “hat”, but each area will have its own identity, appealing to its strengths. Thus, each bathing area has its own symbol, and different colors.

The entire image refers «to a family and intergenerational space», but also to quality, environmental, and more.

«Whoever remembers this place [next to the old Casino], knows that it was a sand full of mud and rubble. When we arrived here in 2005, none of the beaches had a shower or a foot wash. Now, they all have walkways too, something that didn't exist. We made a structuring intervention in this area», illustrated Chamber President Luís Gomes.

«Nowadays, Manta Rota is one of the most important destinations in the Algarve, something it was not before», defended the mayor.

As for the Tourism Office, it will be «a point to publicize all this offer» and is located «in a simple building, but very interesting from an architectural point of view, the former Manta Rota casino».

In parallel, Vila Real de Santo António opens this Wednesday a tourist information office in the Historic Center of the city, at the António Aleixo Cultural Center, next to Praça Marquês de Pombal, where the brand «VRSA a Céu Aberto» will be promoted.
