Nine roundabouts in Portimão already have "godfathers" and "godmothers"

The entities that will be responsible for the maintenance of nine roundabouts in Portimão signed this Thursday the sponsorship contracts with the Municipality of Portimão, in a ceremony at the Salão Nobre.

Last January, the municipality challenged private individuals to secure the green spaces of the roundabouts in Portimão, in exchange for promoting brands in these spaces.

Of the total number of candidacies submitted (14), seven entities have come to an end, which, starting today, will be responsible for maintaining nine roundabouts in Portimão.

These are local companies or companies operating in the municipality, from various sectors, with a single exception: the PSD/JSD of Portimão, which are political formations. Interestingly, large companies that have distribution or hotel business in the municipality did not apply for any of the roundabouts.

Company Malheiro Furniture will be responsible for the maintenance of the Rotunda on Avenida Paul Harris.

The group NoSoilWater will be responsible for the Rotunda V3/Miradouro dos Três Castelos, commonly known as the Rotunda do Amarilis.

O Algarve Private Hospital it will take two roundabouts: the V6/V7 Avenida Miguel Bombarda roundabout and the roundabout adjacent to the Retail Center.

Company Detailed Plan will be responsible for the roundabout V6/Avenida S. João de Deus.

Company Amarilis Gym will take the roundabout at Pedra Mourinha.

O PSD/JSD Portimao it will take the V7/Três Bicos roundabout.

A Timing People – Temporary Work Company will take the Rotunda V7/LIDL.

In turn, the bluegreen and Action Coach will be responsible for the North Roundabout of Avenida Coronel Maçanita (Aqua Portimão)

On the occasion, the Mayor Isilda Gomes thanked the availability of these entities, «100% from the Algarve and mostly from Portimão», to contribute in this way to the community, assuming responsibility for the maintenance of public green spaces, «in return for the possibility of publicize their brands and businesses, allowing significant savings to the public purse».

Given the interest shown by various entities, it is the intention of the Portimão City Council to put in competition the maintenance of other roundabouts/green spaces through a similar procedure.
