Enrollments for the initial course of the career of specialist volunteer firefighter are open at the Municipal Firefighters of Olhão until September 15th.
Founded in 1931, the Municipal Fire Department of Olhão has "a preponderant role in helping the populations, both in the municipality and in the Algarve region, where its collaboration with other fire brigades is frequently requested", stresses the Olhão Chamber .
In recent years, the Fire Department has been asked to intervene outside the municipality of Olhão for the most diverse occurrences, highlighting the fight against forest fires, given its operability and the means at its disposal, both technically and in the operational aspect of the existing resources'.
The Municipal Firefighters of Olhão have around 120 elements, distributed among the command panel, active professional staff, active volunteer staff, honor roster, interns and fanfare. A number that will be reinforced with this initial course in the career of specialist volunteer firefighters.
Those interested must be between 18 and 45 years old, have compulsory education and have physical and mental strength.
Enrollments can be made at the Municipal Fire Department, at Avenida Bernardino da Silva, No. 27, in Olhão.
