The Algarve Beatriz Gago continues her good performance in the World Championship of the Optimist Class, which is being disputed in Vilamoura. After the second day of regattas yesterday, the Clube Naval de Portimão sailor is the best ranked among the Portuguese, being 39th overall and 2nd in the women's classification, having dropped one position in relation to the first day.

According to the organization, “the weak and unstable steering wind marked the second day of the Optimist World Cup, allowing only two of the three scheduled regattas to take place. Blowing from the south at the time of the first one and circling west for the last of the red group. The intensity varied between 6 and 8 knots».

Swiss Max Wallenberg kept the lead after being 4th and 1st. The Malaysian Muhammad Fauzi Kaman Shah was in great prominence with two victories, having climbed to the second position in the general classification, one point behind the Swiss. Argentine Juan Ignacio Queirel is in third place.

In the women's sector, the Danish Helen Wolff is now first (28th overall) followed by the Algarve Beatriz Gago (39th overall) and Spain's Alba Trigo (45th overall).
