From the 10th to the 12th of June, Vila Nova de Milfontes will host the FEI~TUR – National Sports and Nature Tourism Fair, the result of a partnership between the Municipality of Odemira and the Regional Tourism Authority of Alentejo and Ribatejo. The objective is to promote and affirm the Alentejo, and Odemira in particular, as a privileged destination for Sport and Nature Tourism.
FEI~TUR is committed to strengthening the promotion of the most emblematic tourist products in the municipality of Odemira and the territory, highlighting activities in nature, such as boat trips on the river and in the sea, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, diving or surfing.
The event is set in the mouth of the river Mira and its beaches, in the heart of the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina.
In addition to the intense sports program, FEI~TUR has presentations by accommodation units and tourist entertainment companies, an exhibition of agri-food products and an exhibition of local handicrafts.
In the gastronomic field, the local products deserve to be highlighted, both in tastings and showcookings, as in the present restoration. Animation and lots of music complete the fair's program, which has free entrances.
With Nature Tourism as an inspiring product, on June 9th, at 15 pm, the colloquium “The Preservation of Natural Resources as a Means of Sustainable Tourism” will be held at the Rural Area Tourism unit “Herdade do Freixial”, near Vila Nova de Milfontes.
