The first unit of the Hospital Particular do Algarve Group, the Hospital Particular de Alvor, celebrates on May 13th the 20th anniversary of its inauguration.
Today, the Group, with three hospitals and five clinics, covers the entire Algarve, extending even to the Monchique mountains. During these years, clinical care support companies were created, in parallel, allowing for easier articulation between the units, also helping to promote a more personalized service. Examples are Private Ambulances (with 24/XNUMX availability throughout the country) or Parapharmacies.
«After this time, the Group has known more than to renew itself, to surpass itself in terms of innovation and development», stresses the HPA. These aspects can be gauged “by its installed capacity and by the sustainability of its human resources, but also by the projects it has to develop in the near future, as is the case of the Hospital Particular da Madeira”. It is a hospital that will be built from scratch in Funchal, much like the Hospital Particular de Gambelas (in Faro) and that «promises, like his predecessor, to change the course of health of Madeirans».
To mark this anniversary, the Private Hospital chose two mottos: 20 Years, 20 Success Stories and 20 Years on the Path to Excellence.
“The first frame the memory of 20 years of work and creation, through the testimony of 20 success stories, with happy endings, which represent the importance that the Group has achieved in the health of the Algarve population”, stresses the HPA Group.
The 20 Years on the Road to Excellence, on the other hand, intends to «project a solid, consistent and stable future, making known, throughout this year, the projects that are under development or projects that will be finalized in the meantime». These are the cases of the hybrid operating room and the renovation of the ophthalmology department, whose inauguration is scheduled for May 13th.
Currently, «hybrid rooms are a global trend, as they allow responding in the same space to surgical and non-surgical intervention procedures, including high-definition imaging equipment and increasing patient safety.», explains the HPA.
As for the ophthalmology department, all its equipment was renewed, and it is now possible to have global coverage of this specialty, both at the outpatient clinic (outpatient consultation) and at the surgery level (operating room), including pediatric ophthalmology.
The capacity of diagnostic and therapeutic exams was enhanced – ultrasound, OCT (optical coherence tomography), angiography, retinography – which will allow for comprehensive improvement of all screenings and treatments.
