The former mayor of Loulé António Lopes Serra passed away this Wednesday, aged 81. A disappearance that was signaled by the Loulé autarchy, in a note of regret, in which he recalls the path of the former mayor, who was also Civil Governor and was linked to commercial and tourist activity.
Lopes Serra was mayor of Loulé and Civil Governor before the 25th of April, but he also became a councilor, at a time when Joaquim Vairinhos was mayor. Between 1969 and 1972, he presided over the Loulé Council, where he left his mark, since in the first years of his mandate «the repairs to the Paços do Concelho building were approved, the electricity network in Vilamoura was expanded and remodeled. if that of the northern area of Vila de Loulé”, according to the Chamber.
