The children of Lagoa will have many ways to celebrate their day, from Wednesday to Friday. The Lagoon City Council set up a program to commemorate World Children's Day with entertainment and recreational and cultural activities, to take place in the Municipal Auditorium and its surroundings.
Inflatables and a trampoline, balloon modelling, face painting and creative workshops are some of the “gifts” that the municipality will give to residents between 3 and 12 years old. There will also be cultural activities, such as children's shows, as well as others that appeal to creativity, such as painting glass, a project carried out in collaboration with the Escola de Artes Mestre Fernando Rodrigues.
Schools will also have the opportunity to present, in an exhibition, works developed by their students, including carnival costumes and wine labels developed as part of a competition directed at schools, as well as pieces resulting from the projects Green Cork, Bullying, Nino and Nina, Crescer a Brincar and Eu Passo.
The initiatives are promoted by the Câmara de Lagoa, in collaboration with the Rio Arade and ESPAMOL School Groups, Private Social Solidarity Institutions, CPCJ de Lagoa, Associations and Parish Councils (see full program below).
In addition to activities to commemorate Children's Day, Lagoa will host other events related to children and schools, until the end of next week.
On June 5th, at 16 pm, at the Centro de Congressos do Arade, in Parchal, the closing concert of the project «Tales from the Sea / The Adventure of Fossegrim» will take place in a partnership between the City Council, the Academia de Music from Lagos and the Espamol and Rio Arade School Groupings.
On the 6th, 7th and 8th of June, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 14:30 pm to 16:30 pm, the Final Escola Ativa activity takes place at the Jacinto Correia Municipal Pavilion, in Lagoa.
