The Notices come into effect on Saturday afternoon and last until Sunday morning.

Due to the bad weather that is expected for the next few days, the Civil Protection, namely the Municipal Services of several municipalities in the Algarve, have issued Notices to the Population, warning of the situation and recommending protection measures.

According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA), periods of rain or showers are expected, sometimes heavy (between 10 and 20 mm in an hour) and accompanied by thunder, between early Saturday afternoon and late afternoon. dawn on Sunday, in most parts of the continent, especially from late afternoon on Saturday and early morning on Sunday, in the regions of the center and the north and south coast, where more than 40 mm can be accumulated in 6 hours and about 50 mm in 12 hours (up to 80 mm in the central highlands).

There will also be a very strong wind from the south, with gusts up to 80 km/h on the coast and with gusts up to 100 km/h in the highlands, in most of the mainland territory, from the afternoon until the end of Saturday, with the possibility occurrence of extreme wind phenomena, especially on the coast and in the central and southern interior regions.

Maritime agitation will also be strong, with waves from west-southwest up to 4,5 meters in significant height, on the west coast of the central and southern regions, between the end of the night and the end of the day on Sunday.

On Sunday, the day will have cloudiness decreasing from the end of the morning, but still with the possibility of some occasional heavy showers and thunderstorms, dispersed across the Continent. The wind will remain strong.

However, the Municipal Civil Protection Service of Portimão warned that as of 17:00 pm tomorrow, Saturday, the road that connects the Autodromo to Marmelete will be closed to circulation, for safety reasons due to the possibility of flooding of some sections.
