international museums day albufeiraAlbufeira celebrates this Wednesday, 18 May, International Museum Day, opening the doors of its Municipal Museum of Archeology, free of charge, to residents and tourists, between 9:30 am and 17:30 pm tomorrow.

In addition to a visit to the Museum's estate, which will allow you to discover the history of Albufeira, from its most remote origins to the XNUMXth century, the program also includes the initiatives “Discovering the Castle of Albufeira”, which consists of the realization of a pedipaper the old town (lasting approximately 50 minutes) and a painting and drawing studio dedicated to all children.

On the night of the Museums – May 21st, Saturday – entries are again free, but the Archeology Museum's opening hours will be extended, between 14:00 and 24:00.

The start of the program is scheduled for 20:00, with the reception of participants for the guided tour of the Museum and the permanent exhibition.

Anyone who likes to observe the sky can participate in the activity “Let's see the stars”, organized by the Albufeira Astronomy Club, taking place on the Museum's terrace between 20:00 and 23:00.

At 21 pm, the Museum will be the stage for other stories, this time through a puppet show performed by the Contemporary Theater Company (CTC). "Vicente" is the title of the presentation with which the CTC intends to preserve the puppet show for the whole family, joining to this tradition a narrative alluding to the past, the time when, due to the poor subsistence conditions of the population, the children were taken to the Wheel.

As this is a weekend, the program extends into the night, with more activities dedicated to the little ones. From 22 pm onwards, it will also be possible to participate in the “Oficina do escrivão” and in a painting and drawing workshop.
