As of next Tuesday, April 26, users coming from the emergency room of the Hospital Center Hospital units of the Algarve, in need of assistance in the Orthopedics department, will be able to undergo treatment at the Group's Alvor and Gambelas units. Algarve Private Hospital.
The decision was taken by the Regional Health Administration of the Algarve, which today decided, in an extraordinary meeting, to approve a protocol between the Hospital Center of the Algarve and the Hospital Particular do Algarve Group, «with a view to reinforcing the service provided to Orthopedic users in the Region , as a way to fill the current shortage of professionals in this specialty».
This is, however, a "one-off and transitory measure, which will last for 30 days", and which provides for "improving the access of users to Orthopedics services in a partnership effort between the National Health Service and private providers of the region".
In this context, a specific quadripartite collaboration agreement in the specialty of Orthopedics, which brings together four public hospital centers, ie established between the Hospital Center of the Algarve and the Hospital Center Lisbon Norte, the Hospital Center Lisbon Central or the Hospital Center of Setúbal.
In parallel with these agreements, the Regional Health Administration of the Algarve and the Hospital Center of the Algarve ensure that they continue "to make efforts to hire and establish new professionals in needy specialties in the region".
