Loulé Fim Office Productions (3)In 2015, Loulé Film Office supported 24 productions in Cinema, Television, Advertising or Photography that had an «estimated direct financial return of more than 1 million euros to the Algarve», announced today the Loulé Town Council.

Loulé Film Office is a structure of the municipality, whose mission is to promote the municipality as a destination for the production of Cinema, Television, Advertising and Photography.

Most of these productions concern commercial and institutional advertising, followed by television productions, photography sessions, video clips and cinema, with the making of a feature film.

Along with Portugal, the United Kingdom stands out as the country with the most productions in the municipality of Loulé in 2015, out of a total of six. It is also worth mentioning Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Brazil, which also carried out audiovisual production work in Loulé.

Among the achievements, the Portuguese feature film “Leviano”, the advertising Chi Ice Tea (United Kingdom), one of the episodes of the BBC television program “Celts” or the complete seasons of the programs “Ex on the Beach” stand out , from MTV, and “Die Bachelorette”, from RTL.

The 192 days of shooting in the municipality of Loulé last year involved 406 residents and 289 non-residents in the Algarve, thus contributing to combat seasonality in the region, especially in the months of April to June, considered as the strongest in terms audiovisual production, according to data from the Loulé Film Office.

Loulé Fim Office Productions (5)In terms of impact on the local economy, the period of these shootings generated around 6500 overnight stays and 17500 meals.

Overall, it is estimated a direct financial return that exceeds 1 million euros, not only for the municipality, but for the Algarve economy, in addition to the visibility of the region.

Loulé Film Office was officially presented in 2015, with the aim of promoting the Algarve, in particular the municipality of Loulé, as a place for the realization of audiovisual productions, both national and international, contributing to the development of the cinema, multimedia and audiovisual sector in the region.

At the time, a cooperation protocol was also signed with the Algarve Film Commission.

It intends to capture filming and photographic productions, refer to the Municipality of Loulé as a privileged destination with scenic multiplicity and logistical capacity, encourage a local production movement.

In parallel, Loulé Film Office annually organizes the “MONSTRARE – International Exhibition of Social Cinema”, the first event in Portugal dedicated exclusively to cinema on social themes, and the “Filmes com Estrelas – Portuguese Film Open Air Cycle”, which during the summer months, he takes the seventh art to the parishes of the municipality. It is also the responsibility of this project to coordinate all audiovisual communication of the Municipality of Loulé.

In 2014, Loulé Film Office supported 10 productions, in 2015 there were 24 productions, and this year it already has five productions.

A British film production with a world-renowned cast is scheduled to be shot shortly.
