Municipal store in Faro "increases production and reduces waiting times"

market faroThe Shop of the Municipality of Faro, operating at the Citizen's Shop in the Municipal Market of the Algarve capital, makes an «extremely positive» balance of its activity in 2015, recording a «significant increase in the number of citizens served and a considerable reduction in waiting times».

In fact, in 2015, there were 21.370 assistances, which represents an increase of 2,95% in relation to the total number of assistances provided in 2014 (20.757). The average number of users served on each working day thus rose from 82 to 85.

At the same time, and contrary to what would be expected given the growing attendance, there was a significant decrease in overall average waiting times. In 2015, this time was halved compared to the previous year, with an average waiting time of 3 minutes and 48 seconds being recorded, while 2014 each user had to wait an average of 6 minutes and 39 seconds.

The Chamber of Faro points out that this data, being popular with citizens in general, also reflects the evolution that has been noted in the production of this service since its opening in April 2009 – in 2011, for example, the average waiting time was 8 minutes and 40 seconds.

With regard to the type of assistance, 64,98 percent were related to Fees and Licenses (13887 residents), 26,96 percent were related to Urbanism (5.761 residents) and 8,06 percent reported to “others – certificates of registration of citizens of the European Union” (1.722 citizens).

The Chamber of Faro also highlights the significant increase, in 2015, of collection by Loja do Munícipe, of 41,51 percent.

«This is, moreover, the expected effect of the increase in the unique service provided by the Store and possibly the climate of economic recovery that the county has been experiencing in more recent times», comments the municipality.

On the other hand, he guarantees, «the increase in the Municipality's efficiency in this area is due in large part to the spirit of collaboration of Faro residents, who quickly adapted to the existence of a one-stop shop, where they can handle practically everything that has the to do with its relationship with the municipality”.

Loja do Munícipe came to revolutionize the public service of the municipality, concentrating in a single space most of the branches until now distributed in different physical spaces, saving time and inconvenience to the citizens who, otherwise, had to go through several places to solve their problems .

As is now proven, this is a very high quality service, which today manages to quickly respond to daily care, even at times when the influx of citizens is greater.

Loja do Munícipe is open from Monday to Friday at Loja do Cidadão (Municipal Market Building) between 9:00 am and 17:00 pm.
