Mundialito 2016, the biggest children's football competition in the world approved by FIFA, officially kicked off this Sunday, with the opening ceremony, at the Sports Complex of Vila Real de Santo António, which brought together 10 people.

The opening of the competition included the parade of more than 200 teams and 4000 young athletes participating in the tournament, "in a show marked by cultural diversity and lots of colour, music and entertainment".

The ceremony was attended by the Founder of Mundialito, Ricardo Godoy, the General Director of the tournament, Nilda Gutiérrez and the Mayor of Vila Real de Santo António, Luís Gomes.

Until next Saturday, clubs from the five continents – among which the big three from Portugal are included – as well as several elite world emblems will be competing in groups divided by four football categories of 7 and a football category of 6 .

This year, all games can also be followed in direct, through a partnership established between the Mundialito organization and the Footters platform.

Mundialito 2016 is a competition organized by the Ricardo Godoy International Football School with the support of the Vila Real de Santo António City Council.
