CMA_4183The VII Iberian Forum on Ulcers and Wounds took place this weekend at the Hotel Grande Real de Santa Eulália, in Albufeira. The event featured debates, lectures and workshops, based on the dialogue between health professionals in the response to the treatment of ulcers and wounds in Portugal.

The forum brought together more than a thousand delegates from all over the world, including general and vascular surgeons, dermatologists, endocrinologists, nutritionists, nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists and podiatrists, who debated “the national reality and the European impact of chronic wounds on health care systems. health, addressing this reality in the contexts of the quality of life of patients, training of professionals, clinical management and research», refers the City Council of Albufeira.

Carlos Silva e Sousa, president of the municipality of Albufeirense, was present at the forum and underlined the importance that this type of event has for the municipality, because «they promote the health tourism segment, attracting thousands of people outside the bathing season».

In addition to this, Albufeira has hosted other congresses, which take place annually, such as the 3rd Interdisciplinary Congress on Complex Wounds, organized by ELOCS – Sociedade Portuguesa de Feridas, which also promote debate between the various medical specialties.
