Week-Reading-2016-2The reading habits of students from schools in Tavira will be stimulated in a new edition of Semana da Leitura, which will be promoted between the 14th and 18th of March.

From book presentations to workshops, the initiative integrated in the National Reading Plan (PNL) appears «as a big party, which involves not only schools, but also municipalities and companies, developing reading activities with the population. It is in this festive space that “Reading Links” are born and cemented», explains the National Reading Plan.

In addition to the activities that are scheduled for schools and the Municipal Library, the Reading Week also includes the “Galeria de Autores” initiative, which aims to disseminate texts on Human Rights on the “Sobe e Desce” buses. «These mention the document from which they were extracted and the Library where they can be found», according to the Tavirense autarchy.

Also during that week, Rádio Gilão gives voice to the “Tavira a Ler” project and the 1st Cycle Basic Education School of Horta do Carmo promotes a book fair.

The event is organized by the Tavira Library Network, which has the collaboration of the Câmara de Tavira, the International Association of Paremiology (AIP/IAP), the Centro Ciência Viva de Tavira and Rádio Gilão.
