lifeguardAlbufeira has already started training Nadadores Salvadores, in one of the two courses that the municipality of Albufeira is going to launch, before the start of the bathing season.

The first training action started yesterday, Monday, and will last until April 7th. Soon after, another course begins, in which those interested can still enroll.

The actions, given by the company «4 EMES», take place after working hours, from Monday to Friday. Theoretical classes are held in the Paços do Concelho meeting room, from 18:30 pm to 20:30 pm. The practical sessions are scheduled for the same days, between 20:45 pm and 22:15 pm, at the Municipal Swimming Pools.

In order to access these courses, in addition to enrolling, candidates must take entrance exams, which consist of elimination tests in swimming (100 and 25 meters) and running of 2 meters.

A maximum of 20 trainees, of both sexes, over 18 years old can participate. The registration fee is 25 euros, plus 250 euros for attending the course.

"This is another opportunity for job creation, especially among the younger population, and a way to contribute to increased surveillance and security on our beaches and in the various aquatic sites in the Municipality", considered the Mayor from Albufeira Carlos Silva and Sousa.

In the case of this municipality, the jobs created go well beyond the summer, as the bathing season in Albufeira starts on the 15th of May and lasts until the 15th of October. During this period, all bathing areas in the municipality must be supervised.
