Another 60 pianists and 16 hours of music in three places in the city will toast, on April 2nd, from 10:00 am to 23:00 pm, with the arrival of Spring in Portimão. This is the “Piano Spring” project, promoted by the Bemposta Schools Group, within the scope of the activities proposed by the Department of Performing Arts/Piano Disciplinary Group.
The big day of concerts is free of charge and will take place in the auditorium of AE da Bemposta, in the auditorium of EB 2/3 D. Martim Castelo Branco and in the Grande Auditorium TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão.
"Piano Spring”, which has the support of the Portimonense Chamber, is an initiative aimed at promoting exchanges between participating young students, who are joined by renowned pianists, such as Sofia Lourenço and Pablo Lapidusas, in a total of more than six dozen players for one 16-hour music event.

The Bemposta Basic and Secondary School, headquarters of the group, began its activities in the 2010/2011 school year, bringing a different educational offer to the region, namely by creating integrated public education in music up to 9th grade and professional public education of string and keyboard instrumentalist, soon followed, in 2011/2012, by the creation of the professional course in jazz and performing arts instrumentalist, in the field of interpretation.
The quality of training and openness to the community are priority components of this Educational Project, which constitutes a challenge for initiatives such as “Piano Spring”, in which the main objective is to “foster the exchange of piano students with their counterparts from other music schools in Portugal”.
This project aims to foster exchanges between piano students and students from the various music schools in the country, in addition to simultaneously contributing to the enrichment and dynamization of the cultural and artistic life of the city of Portimão.
