During the days of the event, it will be possible to “acquire the juicy Algarvian Orange at the special price of 34 cents per kilo”, as well as attend culinary demonstrations where this fruit will be the main star, announced the Municipality of Portimão.

Although the party celebrates a fruit, all sectors of the traditional market in Portimo will join the initiative. «The fruit and vegetable sector will decorate its stalls with details alluding to oranges, and in the Bread and Cakes sector, it will be possible to purchase products made with this citrus fruit. The butchers and delicatessen sector, the fish, shellfish and seafood sector and the catering sector will promote the consumption of products that can also be made with oranges, sharing their cooking tricks and recipes and applying each of the operators promotions on certain products , freely', according to the municipality.

Those who want to taste some delicacies made with oranges, can do so in tasting actions and cooking demonstrations that will take place on weekdays, at 10:30 am, next to Sítio dos Fresquinhos, in charge of the Hotel and Tourism School of Portimão – Tourism of Portugal IP. On Saturday, from 10 am, the demonstrations will be the responsibility of the “O Luís” restaurant, with a cocktail tasting with bartender Tiago Paixão.

Festa da Laranja is organized by the Municipality of Portimão, the managing entity of Traditional Markets and Fairs, and by the commission of operators in the fruit and vegetable sector at Av. S. João de Deus Market. The promotions that will be launched during the event can be consulted online.
