Virgin Suta«Virgem Suta», the duo from Beja, composed by Jorge Benvinda and Nuno Figueiredo, will come to Silves on the 28th and 29th of January, to participate in the Side B section, at the Municipal Library and at Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório.

So, on the 28th, at 21 pm, the «Virgem Suta» will be at the Municipal Library of Silves for a conversation around the books, music and films that have marked their lives.

The following day, also at 21 pm, they will go onstage at Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório where, in the tone of joke and irony that characterizes them, they will tell stories through their songs, such as “Tomo Conta Desta Tua Casa”, “Dança de Balcão”, “ Vovó Joaquina”, “Maria Alice” and the most recent “She wanted” and “General Rule”.

This duo, who follow the instinct and unique desire to make “their music”, marked by energy, irony and frankness, without concessions, had as their starting point Linhas Cruzadas, music that was part of the soundtrack of the Portuguese soap opera “Olhos nos Eyes” and which, later, had a new version with the special participation of Manuela Azevedo, from Clã.

In 2015, they released “Limbo” their third album of originals, considered the “portrait of a creative road where songs always have more than one meaning”.

Despite calling themselves a group of modern Portuguese music, the tradition and Portugueseness they assume, accompany them and, naturally, play adufe and cavaquinho. Allied to this is the unique irony that makes your audience laugh after deconstructing every message that your songs contain.
