Works by well-known classical music composers will be part of the Concerto de Reis program that the Orquestra Clássica do Sul will perform on Saturday, January 9th, at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium, at 16 pm.
Directed by its principal conductor Rui Pinheiro, the musical formation will play a repertoire that includes pieces by Mozart, Gluck, Beethoven, Delibes and Grieg. Admission is free.
The opening of “The Marriage of Figaro” and General “Coriolanus”, movements of “Coppelia” and “Orpheus and Eurydice”, and the adventures of “Peer Gynt” are some of the pieces that can be enjoyed in the concert offered by Albufeire local authority.
The Orquestra Clássica do Sul began its artistic activity in October 2013, is composed of musicians from twelve different nationalities and currently has Rui Pinheiro as Principal Conductor, Jonhn Avery as Associate Conductor and Cesário Costa as Main Guest Conductor.
Performs chamber music concerts, opera, Promenade Concerts (intended for families), concerts linked to other artistic expressions (Jazz, fado, dance, literature), Workshops and masterclasses.
It also bets on regular concert cycles with national and international conductors and soloists, in a program that includes works from the baroque to the contemporary, in addition to the traditional concerts in festive seasons.
