UAlg CGD protocolThe creation of a closer relationship with CRIA – the Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer Division of the University of Algarve (UAlg) is the big news of the new cooperation protocol signed on December 4th between UAlg and Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD) ).

This closer relationship with CRIA gives greater importance to the creation of new companies, through more specialized financial support aimed at new entrepreneurs.

Fernando Geraldes, commercial director of CGD's Sotavento Algarvio, made a point of mentioning a fruitful collaboration of more than 20 years, highlighting the added value of this partnership.

For the commercial director of Sotavento Algarvio, this partnership will bring benefits not only for the entities involved, but also for the region, through CRIA – Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer Division.

“CGD knows the market, the commercial circuits, the entities that unlock this type of process”, explains Fernando Geraldes.

The collaboration between the University of Algarve and CGD, which began in 1998, now presents new features, suited to social developments and the progress made in the areas in which the two institutions develop their activity.

As an example of this collaboration, the dean António Banco highlighted the production of identification cards for students, teachers, researchers, non-teaching staff and employees. alumni UAlg, whether or not they have a banking component.

As for the global funding of this partnership, the dean clarified that it will be associated with components such as culture, science production and academic merit.

The protocol now signed is valid for four years.
