The Loulé Council will deliver Christmas hampers to 2 families in the municipality that are experiencing greater difficulties, between the 11th and 18th of December.
This is a measure that the municipality has been promoting for many years, with the aim of "providing a more dignified Christmas night to all families in Loulé", according to the Chamber.
These gifts will reach families from the 11 parishes of this large municipality, which stretches from the coast to the Alentejo. The baskets include typical foodstuffs for the festive season, including cod, olive oil, milk, grain, beans, cereals and bolo-rei.
The distribution of the hampers starts in Boliqueime (11th, 10 am, Pavilhão Desportivo), followed by S. Sebastião (11th, 14:30 pm, Parish Council), Querença (14th, 10 am, Associação Bem-Estar dos Amigos de Querença), Tôr (14th, 14:30 pm, Parish Council), Salir (15th, 10 am, Community Center), Ameixial (15th, 14:30 pm, Parish Council), Alte (16th, 10 am, Parish Council ), Benafim (16th, 14:30 pm, Community Center), S. Clemente (17th, 10 am, Parish Center), Almancil (17th, 14:30 pm, Almancil Social and Cultural Association) and Quarteira (18th, 10 am and 14:30 pm, Quarteira Municipal Center).
«With this edition of the Christmas Baskets, the Municipality intends to support those who need it most, at a time when the spirit of fraternity and solidarity also prevails», concluded the Loulé Council.
