7 Arts 1 PalaceSeven arts, plus two, will be highlighted on Friday and Saturday, November 20th and 21st, at the Palácio do Tenente, in Faro, between 21 and 2 am.

The cultural and collaborative commerce space located in the center of the Algarve capital will dedicate a room in the palace that gives its name to each of the seven "conventional" arts - music, dance, theater, painting, sculpture, literature and cinema -, but it will also find space to promote photography and gastronomy.

With the initiative “7 Arts, 1 Palace”, the aim is to “create environments and moments that bring together audiences, artists and cultural agents”, according to the Palácio do Tenente, which organizes the event. Space will be given to creators and projects from the region or with a strong connection to the Algarve.

To celebrate the music, Todd Sheldrick, member of the Orquestra Clássica do Sul was invited, who will provide musical moments through different instruments. In dance, Filipa Rodriguez presents the performance entitled «E foi Assim» in one of the halls of the palace.

The students of Performing Arts of the Grouping of Schools Tomás Cabreira are responsible for the art of theater and will present the play «Almost, almost, Prometheus». The cinema will be guaranteed by Eduardo Pinto, who will present his short film «Memória Fotográfica».

The Salão Nobre will be the space for literature, with publishers 4Águas, Canal Sonora and Edições Cativa promoting two nights of literary presentations and autograph sessions with authors Paulo Moreira, Fernando Pessanha, Adão Contreiras, Marco Mackaaij and Vítor Gil Cardeira.

Ernesto Ceriz is the representative of painting in an exhibition “which reflects issues of the existential and the imaginary” and sculpture will feature an exhibition by Carlos de Oliveira Correia, an artist with public art works in several counties of the Eastern Algarve.

Photography and gastronomy, despite not being part of the «most conventional classification of the 7 arts», nevertheless do not lack space in this event. In the field of photography, the exhibition «InCompleta» by Tata Regala will be on display. The gastronomy will be celebrated in a showcooking, demonstration that will be done in the scope of the Cavala Algarvia project, of the Center of Sciences of the Sea (CCMAR), on Friday.
