Filipe Santos, right on the opening journey, won the gold medal with a European record in the 25 meters moth.

According to the website of the Portuguese Swimming Federation, the Ferreiras CF swimmer, 27, world record holder of the 50 meters moth, finished the 25 meters moth with 16,19, beating Frenchman Joseph Wharry by just two hundredths (16,21). ). The bronze went to the Swede Jens Carlsson (18,23).

For his part, José Vieira achieved the silver medal in the 25 meters breaststroke, on the second day of the European Championships.

The experienced 32-year-old swimmer from Louletano, very focused, secured second place, with a time of 20,98 seconds, in a competition dominated by Frenchman Rafael Dutay (19,68). The bronze was won by the Mexicans Ricardo Guerrero (21,83).

During the 3rd European Swimming Championship DSISO – Down Syndrome International Swimming Organization 2015, Filipe Santos won gold (25 m moth) and bronze (200 m moth), João Vaz won silver in 400 m styles and 200 m moth, José Vieira silver (25 m breaststroke), Diana Torres, bronze (200 styles), Adriana Reis bronze (50 m moth) and the relay of the 4×50 m styles mixed bronze with Diana Torres, José Ribeiro, Adriana Reis and Filipe Santos.
