«Greens are the Fields», with music by Zeca Afonso and poem by Luís de Camões, «Edelweiss» and «Over the rainbow», from the soundtrack of the films “Música no Coração” and “O Feiticeiro de Oz”, «D' immenso Giubilo”, from the opera “Lucia di Lammermoor”, by Donizetti, or even “Hallelujah”, by Leonard Cohen.
These are just a few examples of the eclectic program of the concert by the Grupo Coral of the University of Algarve, scheduled for the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe (Raposeira, Vila do Bispo), on Sunday, November 15, at 16 pm.
Integrated in the cycle “Ouvir as Vozes do Património”, the concert is artistically directed by conductor Ivelina Kavrakova-Pereira and accompanied on the piano by teacher Raquel Correia. The University of Algarve's Coral Group has around two dozen choristers.
This concert integrates a very diversified repertoire, adjusted to the time and place of performance, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, a national monument.
The same concert, which is part of DiVaM, the Program for the Dissemination and Valorization of the Monuments of the Algarve, will be presented on December 5th, at 18 pm, in the multipurpose room of Alcaidaria, in the Municipal Museum of Loulé.
