Organist Rute Martins is the next guest of the VIII Organ Festival – Faro 2015, for a concert at Igreja do Carmo, on Saturday, November 21, at 21 pm.
Rute Martins began studying organ under the guidance of Professor Antoine Sibertin Blanc, having completed in 1999 a degree in organ at the Lisbon Higher School of Music.
As a concert artist, he has performed several solo recitals and with other formations. He has regularly accompanied choirs on tour and integrates orchestras in occasional works.
He teaches the organ class at the Conservatory of Arts of Orfeão de Leiria and the School of Arts-SAMP. He has been organist at the German Evangelical Church in Lisbon since 1998 and is a member of the chamber music group Liz Consort.
Before the concert, from 12:00 to 13:00 on Saturday, there will be a tuning workshop with António Simões. It is aimed at the general public, who will be able to get to know better and more closely the organ of the Igreja do Carmo. Information/Registration [email protected]; 916782780.
The VIII Organ Festival - Faro 2015 is co-organized by Associação Cultural Música XXI and the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, in partnership with the Municipality of Faro, the INATEL Foundation and the Hotel Faro. It has support for the dissemination of Sul Informação, FM Street and Antenna 2.
