French Film Festival settles today in Faro

Hippocrat ©-Le-PactThe film «Hippocrate», by Thomas Lilti, opens today, November 5, the four days of the French Film Festival's passage through Faro, at Teatro das Figuras, where nine films will be presented in preview, one of them in school session. All films are subtitled in Portuguese.

So, this Thursday, at 21 pm, «Hippocrates», chosen to close the Semaine de la Critique 2014 in Cannes, a film that was nominated in 7 categories for the César 2015, with the César for Best Supporting Actor awarded to Reda Kateb. «Hippocrate» deals, in a dramatic comedy way, with a reality that the current hospital environment knows well.

«Les Regles du Jeu», by Claudine Bories and Patrice Chagnard, is the film presented in a school session at 10:30 am on Friday, 6 November.

With strong characters, the film follows the difficult journey of three young people trying to integrate the world of work.

On that same day, the public can see, respectively, at 19 pm and 00 pm, «Fidélio, l'Odyssée d'Alice», by Lucie Borleteau, and «La prochaine fois je viserai le coeur/In the next point to the heart», by Cédric Anger.

Selected for more than a dozen festivals, «Fidelio, l'Odyssée d'Alice» is also a dramatic comedy and the director's first feature film.

On Saturday the 7th at 15 pm, centuries of life in a tropical forest will parade before the eyes of spectators in «There was a forest», by Luc Jacquet.

Later, at 19 pm, «Teacher», by Léa Frazer, an amusing tribute to Éric Rhomer and Jocelyn Quivrin,

At 22 pm it's time for a police drama, «L'Affaire SK1», by Frédéric Téllier.

The 16th French Film Festival says goodbye to Faro, on Sunday, the 8th, with «Spartacus and Cassandra», by Ioannis Nuguet, a film about the life story of two children told by themselves.

The closing film is «lulu femme nue», by Solveig Anspach, a delicious comedy from which drama is not absent, a cry for freedom from a woman who needs to find herself again.
