AIDSWorld AIDS Day will be marked this Monday, November 30, in Silves, through the promotion of various activities aimed at 10th, 11th and 12th grade students of Silves Secondary School and 9th grade students of the EB 2,3 Dr. Garcia Domingues School. The initiatives will take place in the Secondary's auditorium, between 10:00 and 17:00.

The morning will be marked by the realization of an awareness and clarification action on the subject, which will begin with the intervention of Jorge André, a teacher at the Secondary School and representative of the area of ​​sexuality at this educational establishment, followed by a theater dynamic. -Forum on the HIV-AIDS Virus and risky or deviant behaviors, recommended by the Spectacle Arts class – Interpretation at Escola EBS da Bemposta.

The action will continue with the interventions of nurses Luís Santos (School Health Team of the Health Center of Silves) and António Malta (DICAD of ARS Algarve) with an intervention on the impact of the problem of the HIV-AIDS Virus and other Sexually Transmitted Infections – IST in young people.

The session will end with an open debate, with clarification of doubts by the participants, and with the distribution of informative/preventive material, provided by the Center for Counseling and Early Detection of HIV/AIDS - CAD of Faro.

In the afternoon, from 14 pm to 00 pm, the ARS Algarve mobile van will be at Escola Secundária de Silves to carry out free screenings of the HIV-AIDS virus for young people (over 17 years old).

The initiative, also open to the entire community, is promoted by the Specialized Technical Team for Damage Reduction of the Division of Intervention in Additive Behaviors and Dependencies – DICAD of ARS Algarve.

Simultaneously, a clarification service on the HIV-AIDS Virus will be in operation and there will be distribution of informative/preventive material, provided by the HIV/AIDS Counseling and Early Detection Center – CAD of Faro.

World AIDS Day is celebrated around the world on December 1st.
