OlhanenseOlhanense was sidelined this Saturday from the Portuguese Cup after a 1-0 home defeat against “European” Belenenses. The Algarvians showed some arguments to get another result and even wasted a penalty, but they couldn't avoid defeat.

The only goal of the match was scored by Ricardo Dias, in the 34th minute, after a game start in which Olhanense was the team that attacked the most. Even before the break, the Algarve had a golden opportunity to draw. At minute 45, the referee signaled a penalty in favor of Olhanense, but Said allowed the defense to the guardian Ricardo Ribeiro.

In the second half, the game was very disputed and the best chances to score already appeared in the final minutes. On minute 88, Materrazi shot to a tight defense by Ricardo Ribeiro and, a few minutes later, it was Belenense Rúben Pinto's turn to hit the bar.

With this result, Olhanense says goodbye until next year to the Portuguese Cup, after reaching the 3rd round of the current edition of the trophy.
