Balance 2 years Mandate SB Alportel Heli_38The term is still halfway through and more than two-thirds of the commitments made in the electoral program have already been fulfilled. The municipal executive of São Brás de Alportel took stock of his two-year mandate, this Monday, and made a point of illustrating the message he wanted to convey in a very original way: with a helicopter tour over the village.

Executive members and journalists had the opportunity to see, with a broad perspective, some of the most important works that were carried out in this term, but also in previous years. Among them, one recently completed, after more than ten years of financial effort by the São Paulo municipality, the circulation ring around the urban core.

The day was not the most pleasant for traveling by helicopter, but the trip turned out to be smoother than the weather had predicted, under the experienced command of pilot Daniel Schustakowitz, one of the instructors of the HTA company, which operates from the private heliport Miguel Barros, in São Brás de Alportel. This company, which opened a branch in the Algarve eight years ago, made one of its devices available to the City Council of São Brás, to take the delegation to heaven.

With his feet on the ground, the mayor of São Brás de Alportel made a «very positive» balance of the first two years of his mandate. That's because, he assured, "70 percent of the presented program has been completed." In addition, unforeseen works were carried out, as the new artery linking schools to the sports park, opened this year.

There was work done, but above all "a great concern with the social area", since "it would be unthinkable" to invest in infrastructure without first ensuring the well-being of the population. In this field, the mayor highlighted the launch of «Vale + Educação», a 30 euro voucher given to all 1st cycle students in the municipality, valid at local stationers, the reduction of IMI for families with dependents up to the maximum allowed by law and the launch, soon, of social support in the health area.

Another area highlighted by members of the executive from São Paulo was urban regeneration, with several works carried out, as well as the commitment to culture and events, which aimed to make the town's historic center more dynamic.
