judiciary PoliceA 46-year-old man suspected of counterfeiting and selling driver's licenses and citizen's cards was arrested by the Southern Directorate of the PJ. In searches made to the suspect's house, the police also found a prohibited weapon.

According to the PJ, the arrest was made "for the practice of a crime of possession of a prohibited weapon", but the police explains that the detainee will have "as a way of life the forgery and sale of driving licenses and citizen cards, attracting interested parties via a website'.

During the searches, the Judiciary Police seized "several material used for the forgery of documents, namely, photographs, copies of documents, plastic films, plasticizers, holograms, metal punches and various computer equipment".

Also in the searches, a revolver was seized for which the man did not have a license to use and carry.

The detainee will now be presented to the judicial authorities for the application of coercive measures.
