twigThe custom is for drivers to start with karts and end up in Formula 1. But ex-F1 driver Rubens Barrichello is taking the opposite route, or rather a way back.

At the age of 43, the Brazilian driver won the Rotax Max Challenge South American in the DD2 category and thus secured his place in the finals at the Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve, which will take place from 8 to 14 November.

By winning the South American race that gives him access to the Rotax final, the driver with the most participation in F1 GPs, won for the second time in his career a South American kart title.

The Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals brings together, at Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve, integrated in the AIA complex in Portimão, the best drivers from all over the world who compete in trophies supplied with Austrian engines.

For the second time in Portimão, this competition has the participation of the 288 best kart drivers in the world who will compete in 4 categories, making it the biggest race in the world in terms of nationalities in dispute.
