coral poster Portimão 1The Grupo Coral Adágio welcomes, between the 23rd and 25th of October, Les Choeurs du Mercantour, a French choral formation that celebrates 30 years of existence and will be in the Algarve to give choral concerts, in the cities of Portimão, Lagos and Albufeira.

The program starts on the 23rd of October (Friday), at 21 pm, with a choral concert at the Igreja Matriz in Portimão.
On Saturday 24, at the same time, it will be the turn of the Nossa Senhora do Carmo Church (Igreja das Freiras), in Lagos, to host a choral concert at the invitation of the Grupo Coral de Lagos, as part of the XXXIX Festival of Choirs of the Algarve.

Finally, on the 25th of October (Sunday), at 11:00 am, at the Igreja Matriz in Albufeira, there will be a sung mass, followed by a choral concert, in partnership with the Albufeira Parish Centre.

The group Les Choeurs du Mercantour comes from Saint-Martin-Vésubie, in the heart of the Mercantour Massif National Park, in the mountains of the Southern Alps, above Nice, in the south-east of France, 50 kilometers from the coast (Côte d'Azur).

Grupo Coral Adágio was born in Portimão, in September 1989, and its artistic director is the conductor António Alves Alferes Pereira.

Its main objective has always been the dissemination of quality choral music, through a very varied repertoire that includes pieces from the Renaissance to the present, from sacred polyphony to black spirituals, passing through popular music, Portuguese and other countries.

Grupo Coral Adágio often acts at the invitation of individual and collective entities in various socio-cultural events.
