CCV de Lagos challenges high school students to create art about depression

DepartmentThe Centro de Ciência Viva de Lagos challenges students of Arts from secondary schools in the Algarve to create artistic pieces on the theme “Depression”, within the scope of the “DepArte” competition, which has already been launched.

To participate, students only need to create the work of Fine Arts and submit it to the competition's promoters, by the 30th of November. More information and competition rules can be consulted on the website of the CCV de Lagos.

By participating, young artists are able to win gift vouchers from FNAC. The prizes are 300 euros for the 1st place, 200 euros for the 2nd and 100 euros for the 3rd place.

Even if they do not receive any of these awards, all participants will have the opportunity to see their work on display, in an exhibition scheduled for December 11th, the day on which the winners of the competition will also be announced.

This initiative is launched within the scope of the Saúde a 4 Tempos project, supported by an award from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. At the moment, the last season of the year is being worked on, Autumn, which has themes associated with health, Seasonal Affective Disorder and Depression.
