Two monuments in the Algarve will be, on Sunday, October 11th, the stage for two DiVaM initiatives: the Castle of Paderne (Albufeira) will host the event “Do Castelo ao Povo”, from 14:30 pm to 17:30 pm, while the auditorium of the Fortress of Sagres will be the stage from the concert Be & Bop – Jazz Duo, at 17 hours.
“Do Castelo ao Povo” is an activity that aims to portray some historical moments through a tour along the monument.
The historical reconstruction will count with the participation of a narrator who will make the synopsis of each one of the paintings: the (re)conquest of the castle; Dances and legends, pilgrimage of Nossa Senhora do Castelo and from “Paderna” to Paderne.
The initiative is organized by the Sociedade Musical e Recreio Popular de Paderne, and has the support of the Municipality of Albufeira and the Parish Council of Paderne.
At the concert Be & Bop – Jazz Duo, the double bass player Zé Eduardo and the singer Manuela Lopes, two veterans of national jazz, come together in an unusual project: double bass and voice.
The proposal is also unusual: some of the old standards revisited as well as the themes of the great Bebop masters, approached without complexes, in a mix between the language of Camões and Avenida 52.
«Surely an interesting challenge to interpreters and listeners and a show with unique characteristics. Be & Bop it's on the street, and between the angular lines of the bebop melodies are the stories of all of us. Those who walk the streets of Life», explains Associação Cultural Música XXI, which produces the concert.
